Seven Kings is located in East London, in the Borough of Redbridge, two miles from the centre of Ilford town. Redbridge Living has applied for planning permission from the Local Council of Redbridge for a mixed-use project that will include new homes, community, health, and business start-up facilities. The Cauliflower Hotel – A Great Example of Seven Kings Architecture

Located at 553 High Road, Ilford, the Cauliflower Hotel is a Grade II listed building maintaining some of the most appreciated characteristics of 1900s architecture. It was designed in 1897 by architects Waterman and Lewis in a free Flemish/Jacobean style. As the name implies, it used to be a hotel and public house.

Its opulent late 19th-century gin palace style is the main reason why it was designed as a Grade II listed building. Its street presence is imposing, and its interior layout is a great example of the very intricate decorative design of the time.

Inside, the building features a bar, a billiard room, a ‘Masonic room’, a drawing room, and, of course, hotel rooms and a kitchen. The façade is constructed of red brick with stone and stucco dressings, as well as a polished black granite plinth.
